Job Description:
The Institute of Marine Affairs is inviting applications for the contractual position of Finance/Account Project Officer. The successful candidate will be responsible for overseeing financial reporting requirements for various projects, including budgeting, forecasting, and ensuring compliance with financial regulations.
Duties and Responsibilities:
Financial Reporting:
Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements.
Ensure timely and accurate reporting of financial data to management.
Budgeting and Forecasting:
Assist in preparing the annual budget.
Monitor budget performance and provide variance analysis.
Cash Flow Management:
Monitor and manage cash flow to ensure adequate liquidity.
Prepare cash flow forecasts and manage banking relationships.
Responsible for bank reconciliations for projects.
Compliance and Audit:
Ensure compliance with financial regulations and internal policies.
Assist in preparation for external audits for projects and the IMA, implementing recommendations.
Qualifications and Skills:
Strong analytical skills and attention to detail.
Solid understanding of financial principles and project accounting.
Proven experience in financial reporting, budgeting, and cash flow management.
